Breeders' Cup Pre-Entries Oct. 27
DEL MAR, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2021) ― Pre-entered fields for the 2021 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be announced live on TVG along with the Breeders’ Cup website, Official Mobile App, and Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET.
The live presentation will be hosted by TVG's and Breeders’ Cup Players’ Show's Christina Blacker and Mike Joyce, and reporter Joaquin Jaime.
The 38th Breeders’ Cup World Championships will consist of 14 races with purses and awards totaling more than $31 million to be held at Del Mar racetrack on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 5-6.
Breeders’ Cup Pre-Entry is the first stage of a two-stage entry payment process for all owners intending to start a horse in a Breeders’ Cup World Championships race. The first payment to secure entry is due on Monday, Oct. 25, when pre-entries close at noon PT. A second payment is due on Monday, Nov. 1, when final entries are taken. Post positions will also be drawn on Nov. 1.

Caton Bredar has been named the recipient of the Charles W. Engelhard Award by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders.

Ed Bowen, a longtime NTWAB member, died on Jan. 20 at his home in Versailles, Ky. at age 82. His memory will be honored at the upcoming Eclipse Awards ceremony.
