Hughes, Law Win Hirsch Writing Contest

Alicia Wincze Hughes of the Lexington Herald-Leader and Tom Law of ST Publishing earned top honors in The New York Racing Association, Inc.’s (NYRA) sixth annual Joe Hirsch Memorial Writing Contest. Law is a past president of the NTWAB and Hughes is a current board member.

Woods Memorial Award Goes to Clancy

The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that Joe Clancy, an NTWAB member and an Eclipse Award-winning writer and editor of Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine, will receive the David F. Woods Memorial Award for excellence in journalism.

Rules Changed for Older Male, Female Eclipse Awards

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, National Turf Writers and Broadcasters, and Daily Racing Form announced Feb. 19 rules modifications and name changes in two Eclipse Awards categories. The older male category has been renamed older dirt male and the older female category has been renamed older dirt female.
